The MORE at Niles West mentoring program strives to connect graduate student and post-doctoral mentors at Northwestern University (NU) to students conducting high level, independent research at Niles West High School (NWHS).
Working hand in hand with teachers at NWHS, high school students are paired with a single graduate student or postdoc mentor whose research and expertise is relevant to the student’s research project. Once matched, mentors communicate with their student, almost entirely through email and collaborative software, to provide guidance as the student conducts their research project and prepares their findings for regional, state, and/or international science fair competitions. This program is designed for mentors seeking a highly rewarding experience with a low time commitment.
We are currently seeking mentors for the 2015-2016 academic school year. To apply as a mentor, look out for our MORE @ Niles West Recruitment events! Feel free to email the MORE @ Niles West Program Coordinators at email@example.com with the subject line “NW: Information Request” for more information.
